Say no to single-use food and beverages.

In just a few days, the Shanghai Municipal Regulations on Domestic Waste Management will officially come into effect. According to the regulations, the Municipal Market Supervision Administration has clarified that, starting next month, food service providers and food delivery services shall no longer proactively provide consumers with disposable chopsticks, spoons, knives, or forks.

Are disposable food containers safe to use?

Whether it’s takeout or delivery, single-use food containers are indispensable. Yet many consumers remain skeptical about these containers, which are primarily made of plastic: Can they safely hold hot meals and dishes? Experts from the Jiangsu Provincial Institute for Quality Inspection and the National Center for Quality Inspection and Testing of Food Packaging Products have conducted on-site experiments to provide the answer.

Encourage the use of safe and harmless packaging for food delivery.

Recently, the National Medical Products Administration issued the Measures for the Supervision and Administration of Food Safety in Online Catering Services (hereinafter referred to as the “Measures”), introducing a number of new regulations on online food ordering. Notably, the Measures emphasize that online catering service providers must operate physical stores and obtain food business licenses in accordance with the law. In response to public concerns about contamination of takeout food containers, the new Measures also specifically encourage third-party online catering service platforms to provide biodegradable food containers, tableware, and packaging materials. According to reports, the aforementioned new Measures will come into effect on January 1, 2018.

Corrugated Cardboard Production Line

According to the corrugated cardboard production process, a corrugated board production line consists of two relatively independent process sections: the wet-end equipment and the core equipment. The wet-end equipment primarily includes the base paper pallet, automatic splicing machine, preheating and pretreatment unit, single-face corrugating machine, paper conveyor bridge, gluing unit, and double-face machine. Using corrugated medium as the raw material, the wet-end equipment produces three-ply, five-ply, and seven-ply corrugated board with various flute configurations. The core equipment mainly comprises rotary slitting and creasing machines, longitudinal slitting and creasing machines, transverse slitting machines, and stacking machines. Depending on order requirements, the core equipment performs longitudinal slitting and creasing, as well as transverse slitting and stacking. Key components of the core equipment include rotary slitting machines, longitudinal slitting and creasing machines, transverse slitting machines, and stacking machines. The core equipment carries out longitudinal slitting and creasing, transverse slitting, and stacking of the corrugated board in accordance with order specifications.
